This Movie is sick, I have seen some messed up movies (see Eraser Head page) in my time but the concept of this one takes the poverbial cake. A Japanese High School class has been chosen by random lottery to fight to the death on an island. Only one kid can be left standing, each one is given a bag with supplies and a "weapon"(anything from a hammer to a submachine gun). If you enjoy copious amounts of sensless gore with a mix of Dawson's creek style cheesy high school crush's this movie will make you 97% satisfied (the only reason I say 97% is because of the subtitles it should be dubbed!!!!). There is a sequal as well but I couldn't find the version with subtitles and my Japanese is a bit rusty.
Ichi the Killer
Ichi is the story of a seemingly normal guy who occasionally just flips out and starts killing people. He is usually crying while he is brutally chopping people up which leads you to believe he does not enjoy killing which may or may not be true.
Loved BATTLE ROYAL, particularly for its dark, satirical humor. The popular click of girls doesn't like you at school? It's the same on the island, only here they'll kill you. The type of movie that makes you realize what a prude country we live in, this movie could never be made or released here.
ICHI THE KILLER is ****ing grotesque. Shocking for the sake of being shocking. Just jaw-dropping. Check out Miike's film AUDISHON -- less disgusting but just as intense and packs more of an emotional punch.
