so, I'm in this home decor store buying a christmas gift today and these guys behind the counter are discussing the new cowboy flick Brokeback Mountain that is coming out and how they can't wait to see it. one of them says, "I just hope that everyone in the theater keeps their snickering to themselves." and the other one says, "I know. If anyone trys it, I am standing up, waving my little finger at them and saying,'You are outnumbered'!" [at that point all three of the guys clapped and hooted] the other one says, "maybe we should drive to ATL to see it"? the other one says, "oh, I know. Remember what happened in RENT"? That girl got up and everyone told her to sit down." and then they went off on some tangent about a Christina Ricci movie where she is talking to the audience about (couldn't hear what they were saying) but something to the effect of the fact that three couples got up and walked out.
Guess ya had to be there for it to be funny...but it was at the time. Merry Christmas, ho, ho, ho
you're not the only one. when the preview came on in a recent movie that I went to see, some guy says, "what the hell" and the entire audience starts giggling...jj says even in new york people are squeamish about it. interesting, no?
I just think it's cool that this same director that did Brokeback Mountain also did Sense and Sensibility. Talk about a range of work and taking a risk!
No matter what cow boyz do I laugh though. They talk funny and itch the groin like a major league baseball player! So how can I not laugh when they are mesquite grillin' the sausage!
