Pierce Brosnan is out Daniel Craig is in...Casino Royale, the next installment of the James Bond franchise, is slated to begin filming today. The title is actually the same as the very first bond movie which did not star Sean Connery. The picture's locations will include Prague, Italy, the U.K. and the Bahamas. According to The Palm Beach Post, one Nassau location will be "the Buena Vista, a 200-year-old mansion with a legendary restaurant, soon will become the Liberian Embassy in Madagascar."
The Post reports that "the old colonial building will be painted to make it look even older when it is transformed into the embassy, where the new James Bond will take on bad guys in the upcoming Casino Royale. Filming starts Feb. 23."
Urban Freeflow reveals that Parkour pionner "Sebastien Foucan has been hired to appear in the latest James Bond movie; Casino Royale. A chase scene is planned which will unveil the new Bond in the form of actor Daniel Craig. The sequence in question is currently being shot in the Bahamas."
MI6 contends that this opening sequence that Foucan will perform and that is said to be filmed atop the Buena Vista will be "a roof-top chase sequence that was originally cut from the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service."
Meanwhile, CommanderBond.net points out a piece in German newspaper Westfälische Rundschau, which reports that German TV actor Ludger Pistor has been cast in Casino Royale as a Swiss banker. "I only know fragments of (the script). I don't even know if I am on the good or on the bad side. They're making a secret out of it," Pistor said of the production. "And that's why I wouldn't say anything about it, even if I knew. ... Shooting will take place in Prague, Italy and the Bahamas. I'll be in front of the camera for 4 or 5 weeks, but I won't be shooting all the time."
Finally, JoBlo tells us that unknown Russian actress Lana Antonova is now in the running for the role of love interest Vesper Lynd. The site claims "the producers are looking for someone with blond hair (since the baddie is dark-haired Italian beauty, they want some contrast), with British accent and who speaks fluent Russian."
HATED IT. THE EDITING WAS NOT INTUITIVE. esp. the first five sequences...didn't work and the whole drawn-out action sequence did not grab the audience in the sense of the hook that most movies set up. it should have been placed at the end instead of the sinking of a venice building.
daniel craig=holy wow, can i meet him on a dark alley?
