Just saw this movie last night and thought it was amazing. It was like a Wes Anderson movie, a Tom Robbins novel, and a Charlie Kaufman flick wrapped into one tasty burrito. Excellent script, amazing cast, and clever cinematography. It's not a movie I would recommend to my parents, but more so to a person who likes these types of quirky flicks. Not a movie for the narrowminded. Anyways, I forgort how comedic Dustin Hoffman could be and surprisingly, Mark Wahlberg is pretty damn funny too. Yes that's right, C'mon C'mon Feel it! Feel it! actually had me cracking up at moments. There were definitely some scenes where you just say to yourself, "What the ****?," but you love it because it's so bizarre. It was nice.
Am I the only one who wants to do naughty things w/ Naomi Watts?
Completely agree. I found HUCKABEE'S to be a bit uneven (there are certain sections that are far less entertaining/meaningful than others) but there are some brilliant moments. Also, David O. Russell raises some really interesting philosophical/existential questions, but I'm not sure he gets as deep into them as he thinks he does.
Seeing Mark Wahlberg in this, as well as something like BOOGIE NIGHTS, you realize he's really a gifted comedic actor. He's the best part of the movie by far. Naomi Watts has never looked better.
