"Alice's Misadventures in Wonderland" was filmed in Birmingham this past year. It won the Sidewalk Film Festival grand prize. I am very impressed with the film's mix of humor, symbolism, and modern elements that complete the spin on a classic story. It has the feel of baz luhrmann's version of "romeo and juliet." It also had some other creative cinematic touches such as crossing a movie's characters with commercials blurring back to the movie again. The directors said that they are sending it around the other festival circuits so if it comes to your town, I'd definitely recommend seeing it.
