On one hand, Ben Affleck backlash is so bad right now that I'm not sure he'd get a fair shake even if he managed to buck his trend*, but I do believe the movie is that bad. They were done editing it a year ago, but Dreamworks decided it was so bad it was unreleaseable for last Xmas season. So they kept tinkering with it in postproduction for another year, which never helps.
*I count seven bad movies in a row, and that's only because I thought CHANGING LANES was decent, despite the fact that it stars two of my least favorite actors. If you don't count CHANGING LANES as a good movie, Ben hasn't been in a decent movie since 1998.
