Looks kind of boring if you ask me, even if I am a Depp fan. I quit believing in the 'anything with Depp in it must be good' philosophy with Pirates of the Carribbean.
Kind of interesting commentary about the nature of the relationship between Sir James Matthew Barrie and the Davies family I heard on NPR. First of all, something about how weird it was for him to be hanging out with just her little children all the time. Second of all, which is never mentioned in the film, she was still married when Barrie began coming around.
I thought Pirates of the Carribean was a good bleepin movie. Depp was good in that movie, although it was a Disney/major commercial picture. I think that too many people discredit Depp in this one because of its overexposed nature. Disney has started to step up to the plate a bit though.
Wasn't he nominated for best actor in this one? I should have more gold on my shelf I tell ya.
Yeah, and Lord of the Rings involves a bunch of short hairy people fighting w/ really strong monsters w/ swords. What a crappy movie that was you small-minded, cynical and cocky knitwit.
Second of all, I am fully entitled to my opinion, especially after I walked out of that cruddy movie after paying more than your mother gets from a trick for a ticket.
Finally, who said anything about Lord of the Rings (oh, I get it. You make your points by bringing up obscure references to corroborate your flimsy points!). Personally, I thought that trilogy was a masterpiece except for the last half-hour of the last one that seemed more like an intro to a gay porn.
I thought the same thing. The end of Return of the King was the gayest thing I have ever seen. Both times I saw the movie, I had to bite my lip and cover my face I was laughing so hard at how gay it was. I felt like a cock. People were definitely shooting me some looks. I hate when people make noises during a movie. But I just couldn't help it. It was so bleeping funny.
"Oh Mr. Frodo." "Oh Sam." "I love you Mr. Frodo" "No, I love you Sam" "Oh here comes Mary" "Oh Mary" "Oh and there's Aragon, Yey!" "Let's all hop into bed and......................

Hahahahahaha. Fantastic.
Saw FINDING NEVERLAND today. I was a total sucker for it -- loved it. Much better than the comparable SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. Love the way you see visuals of Barrie's imagination. Much of the dialogue would have come off as overly sappy shlock if it wasn't for the sincerity and the subtlety of Depp's performance. And every time I was afraid a character would go overboard on the cheese in describing "Neverland", the script dodged the issue in a clever way. That little kid that played Peter is wonderful. This film won't be for everybody but I recommend it to anyone who digs these kinds of sentimental stories.
It's up for a bunch of Golden Globes. Nominees were announced today. Check out cnn.com/showbiz for a list.
