Personally, I feel like I'm so familiar with the King Kong legend that I find it hard to get excited by this remake. If it weren't for Peter Jackson, that is. If there's *any* filmmaker that could *really* pull this off and knock it out of the park, it's him. At this point I'd pay money to see him remake pretty much any movie -- THE FIRST WIVES CLUB, THE CARE BEARS MOVIE, whatever. He wrote the script for KING KONG about six years ago. Word was that the script wasn't that great, it needed a whole lot of work, so Jackson and his wife spent the first six months of 2004 rewriting it. Hopefully they came up with something great. I'm sure I'll be damned excited once we start seeing trailers for this thing. Scheduled for release in December 2005.
