Man Richard Pryor was a comic genius. I don't care who you are you had to laugh at him, he was just a riot! The man pioneered what is now modern comedy. And I thank you for that Richard Pryor.
From movies like Harlem Nights and The Mack to his rolls with Gene Wilder he just knew how to make people laugh.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is there will never be another Richard Pryor he was one of a kind and I'm glad to have seen his work and laughed!
looking back on his stuff and comparing it to the material that followed him, the influence is mind-boggling. Truly a pioneer of his day.
good comedy is always a persuasive medium. He seemed to have opened the door to a lot more acceptance in the states by acknowledging the differences instead of repressing them and did so by making them funny and not shameful.
