That's just to set the scene for story...so JJ and I are in this arty theater waiting for it to begin and this really loud lady with a bad accent sits behind us with her husband. Every credit that rolls she is talking at full volume and laughing louder than my cackle after 10 beers. It's like she is crouched in between our ears to express her delight at the scenes flashing before her eyes.
So, on the last preview before CACHE' begins, she cackles and says, "oh, gawd, that was so funny." her husband (full volume), "yes, I know." for whatever reason, something possesses me, I just bust up laughing (but it's the silent shake where you cannot stop). I look over to JJ and he starts doing it too. Well, I keep waiting for CACHE' to start playing music or talk in French so we can release our laughter.
It never happens.
The damn French movie starts to roll credits over one screen with no background music. So, there we are--shaking and laughing and crying--in a totally silent theater. I was watching the editor's creative attempt at showing us who was in the film and resenting it the entire time.
So, back to the back-row lady.
Someone does something so shocking in the movie (don't want to ruin it for anyone) and she screams so loudly in our ears that you would have thought she was dying. of course, the silent shaky laughter starts in again at the most inopportune moment. It wasn't really good of me to laugh since I looked like a total ASShole. But I couldn't help it. I'm immature.
See CACHE' --it leaves you guessing. The French never want to tie it up and mail it out like our films do.
