ummm...I was saddened by the good use of actors--big time ****--that were exploited for their time. it's like a non-artist wrote the jokes. the gay roommate character alone was so written by someone who has never lived in a big city. the scene where the guy finally admits he is gay could have been written (maybe a ghost writer) by Cameron from that 80s tv show Growing Pains. I mean. Come on. the audience is immediately alienated by bull****, stupid, cliche humor.
at least, show that people that are seeing this film that you understand their environment (lots of ****ed up situations and lots of weirdos). play off that humor and you have a spanking fantastic film. cater to vanilla wasps (which you did) and you have this film.
loved the grandpa loved the cliche art f*cks loved the narrator friend who jerome didn't want to be his friend until he was called a cliche douche bag loved that they got that many biggish actors, angelica, malcovich, and that english actor that is in anything that gets nominated for an oscar.
it was the script or the brain behind it that made it suck. but I did laugh. that's worth $6. although I cackle at anything.
